Today I went on my first expedition for the sole purpose of photography (it wasn't my fault that Fish Pot Cafe fish n' chips fell into my mouth whilst on this expedition). I went to see the kites for "Manu Aute Kite Day" at Orakei Marae. It is part of Matariki (bringing in the Maori new year).
The kites were breathtaking and Auckland turned on the weather on a cold July day which was an amazing back drop for my photos.
