Crayon and Heat Art

How easy was this?

I, of course, have seen a tonne of these on pinterest, I plan to make this one for myself but the one I share with you today has 'Chirstmas pressy' in its near future.

I used the tutorial from this website to complete it - yes even Crayon + heat needed more clarification for me. I wanted to make sure I was getting it right. I'm glad I did too, the tips on the site from someone who's done is made my journey a fairly fuss free process.

Mine happened much quicker than in that tutorial. Down to the fact that I used a heat gun rather than a hair dryer I would imagine. If you have one I'd recommend using it.

PS: Don't mind my husbands messy garage!

Double Choc Muffins

Took these to a Guy Fawkes picnic this past weekend. Were yum!

Double Chocolate Muffins
3 cups plain flour
 6t Baking Powder
3T Cocoa
Pinch of Salt
1 cup sugar
1 cup chocolate chips
2 large eggs
1 cup milk
1/2 cup oil
1t vanilla essence

1. Preheat oven to 190 degrees celcius. Grease or spray the muffin pans.

2. In a large bowl sift together the flour, baking powder, cocoa and salt. Add the sugar and chocolate chips.

3. IN a separate bowl beat the egs lightly. Add the milk, oil and vanilla and stir to combine. Tip the egg mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently to combine.

4. Spoon the mixture into the prepated muffin pans. Bake mini muffins for 15 minutes and medium-size muffins for 25 minutes.

Makes 30 mini or 20 medium muffins (or in our case 12 HUGE  muffins).

Things I'm Loving...

I wholeheartedly believe that no matter what is happening in your life, there is always something that you can be thankful for... no matter how simple it is.

I'm loving the sunny weather that has allow me to have a lovely picnic at Cornwall park with some choice people, enjoy some time outside with my favourite little person and spend time working on the outside of our house!

I love that I've updated the 'family frame' that lives in our bedroom. The 'family' clearly only consists of our children now.... we're a couple that hates photos!

I love that these are locked and loaded on a canvas and ready for some heat over the weekend. Pinterest fail or win I wonder?

Love that I can grow something (touch wood) and it's not dying (yet). Viva la tomato plant!

Loving that this turned up in the post yesterday. Excited to get Leah's daycare teachers to write in it at the end of the year... I may or may not have stolen this idea from pinterest.

What are you loving this week?

Journaling the fun way

I can across these wonderful journal pages when I just began my journey into blogdom. In my usual internet hoarding manner I popped them into a folder in what I like to call the 'Katemuda Triangle' which resides on my computer and forgot about them until I was creating my 101 challenge list around this time last year. And so #79 was born.

There are around 50 of them and I've completed one or two here and there over the last year, just squirreling away at them. Now they're all done I have a colourful pile of memories from the last year which I think I'll bind into a book in the near future - cool!

I hope to read them in a few years, like a do now and again with my journals from when I was a kid and giggle.

Here are some of my favourite ones in terms of decoration.

Strangely enough...

...I've just crossed this off,
which  makes me a little bit excited! Excited for all the new possibilities.

I'm getting to crunch time with my 101 list now and I vividly recall about a year ago needing to fill in 101 spots of challenges. It would seem that in my need to complete the list I've put some things on there that aren't as exciting as I thought to begin with and I'm now struggling to get through them. But I will do it!

Anywho, I've learned a lot about making a list having now (nearly) gone through one. The #1 thing I've learned is that the longer the list the more things on it that are just 'fillers', so next year's list is a teeny 52 items. 52 things in 52 weeks (an idea I came across in the blogosphere sometime this year. #2 is to not be afraid to change things in and out - hence why I've started it early, to give myself time to do this editing. And #3, try to make as many of the items as achievable as possible. Yes they're challenges, but lets face it, I'm a wife, mother and full time teacher too!  There's only so much I can do!

I'm so excited about the things that I'm putting on there though. I started the list about a month ago and have been adding things to it here and there. Some are easy(ish) like;
- Get my full license (hilarious at 26 I know!)
- Go to the dermatologist (something I keep putting off)

Others are going to be more difficult I imagine;
- Save up for a Kitchen Aide mixer
- Cull my cookbooks
- Learn how to use photoshop

"To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe."

I have been pinning bits and pieces to a board entitled 'Bucket List' for a few months now. Yet another reason that Pinterest is better than sliced bread.

I've got a tonne of them from the Perfect Bucket List Tumblr because I love the way they're laid out and I've even modelled my other cards (ones I couldn't find on the site) on them as they're so pretty.

Here are what my cards look like.

At the moment they're laminated and sitting in a tidy little pile in my spare room. I plan to do something like this with them...
...but have neither the time or the space to at the mo (new house activity!) I also plan to add to it now and again, I don't want it to become a stagnant list.

Love and excitement!
