"...Your princess is in another castle"

I've decided to cross this off my list...
I didn't plan on this happening really, it just kinda did. Actually, I lie, I have my husband to thank. One rainy day a few weeks back he decided to fire up the old Super Nintendo to play Street Fighter and Leah became interested. He then changed the cartridge to a more suitable game for a 4 year old, 'Yoshi's Island' and began to show her what to do. She loved it!

Over the next few weeks Leah asked if she could play some more and I've been showing her a few different games, but she's actually decided that she really likes to watch for now and prides herself on knowing everything there is to know about 'Rainbow islands', one of mummy's favourites that is currently played on a nightly basis. It's a freakin' nightmare nice to have a little sidekick watching you and giving you advice as you play. "Mummy, you need to get the crystals so the other islands will come up", "The boss is a robot now mummy, make sure you have three rainbows". We also got out Buzz Jungle Party the other night and she thought that was the bees knees.

I'd still really like to get the Wii U up more and clock 'Pikmin 3' and also get cracking on 'Kingdom Hearts' on the DS but for now I'm content with trying to clock a game that I've been working on since I was 5. I also love that I can share this love with Leah, as I know many happy hours of my life as a child was spent watching my big brother play Amiga. They're fond memories. The catalyst behind this goal was to reignite my love of gaming, and not find it a chore (how silly was tackling gaming like it was something I had to do!). So even though I know 'Pikmin 3' is lurking there (I bought a $500 odd console to play the bloody thing!), at the moment I want to play what I want to play... and that's OK by me.

Another goal bites the dust!

Weekly 10 - A fail week - Whoops, and a little food for thought.

Well, I have to put it out there....I did nothing from last week's list. Now don't get me wrong, I thought about it, I just didn't do any of it. AND, I'm super happy about it. My biggest downfall? MKR. God I love that show.

Why am I super happy about it I hear you ask? Because I gave myself permission to snuggle up under the blanket and water the NRL or MKR. I wasn't flipping around like an energiser bunny, going balls to the wall until bed time - and I liked it! When I originally began Weekly 10, I took the inspiration from another blogger who did a similar thing, but I feel like I've taken it too far. The woman ensured she has things that were productivity thing, but also things she wanted to do with/for her kids and husband. I now and then add in that I want to relax of read, but I'm really not good at the relax thing.

Yes I love being busy, yes I love being productive and yes I love getting things done BUT, It's been getting me down - weird huh. Picture this, I'm getting my bits and pieces ready for the following day - the girls breakfasts, bags in the car, clothes laid out for tomorrow, checking the washing situation and so on and so forth. This is after Willow is in bed, but Leah is still up. I like to get everything ready for the following day so that when Leah goes to sleep I have time to get my things done. What I've been unhappy with recently is that Leah doesn't get any of that time with me, because I'm so busy.

So a different kinda list this week. I am going to try and complete last week's list because I still think they're valid things that I've been wanting to do. I also want to do the following.

1. Snuggle up with Leah on the couch when Willow goes to bed.
2. Talk to Leah about the games she's doing on her iPad.
3. Take some staged photos of Willow with her Punk Baby bibbies.
4. Read one more book that I usually do with Leah at bedtime.
5. Make a yummy pudding for Damien one night.
6. Watch TV WITHOUT doing anything else at the same time.
7. Read, read, read.
8. Count to ten before I get grumpy - especially when someone isn't doing as she's asked.
9. Make and freeze kumara mash for Will.
10. 20,000 steps a day (this does seem like adding something - but I'm really enjoying this, so why not?!)

"Sometimes the cure for restlessness is rest."

Yet another thing to cross off my 101 list.  I'm scared to see how I'm going by counting how many I've done/are left but alls I know is I'm super happy when I can cross one off. PS:  I know it's a 'silent sunday' but what I'm doing tomorrow fits perfectly into the theme so I'm being sneaky :D

I actually did this a couple of weeks ago.  It was great fun. It ties in nicely with my challenge to do something with my 'Mind, body, spirit' series stuff (which I'm getting to... slowly) as a lot of that stuff is for meditation-y, relaxation-y kinda stuff.

I actually didn't do it straight after Little Miss went to sleep as she's an early to bed, early to rise kinda girl but turns out a ride on the exercycle and 30 minutes of shorty street were conducive to some good relaxation. :D

Now, to be completely honest, I'm really not good at relaxing.  I always have to be doing something, I'm what you would call an 'active relaxer', which is fine, but I've always wanted to be one of these people that can feel completely at bliss doing nothing much at all but having 'me time'. Which is why I put #37 on the list. And you know what?  I loved it! I really think I could do it again, perhaps even make it a weekly/fortnightly/monthly/whenever I feel like it thing.

I had bubble bath, candles, bath oil, essential oils burning and a great book ('The land of painted caves' the last in the 'Earth Children's' series by Jean M Auel). It was really nice.  Something I might need now and then with going back to work next week after 6 months of maternity leave. Here's hoping I'm kind enough to myself to fit it in. <3
