Weekly 10 round up and Ka kite for a weeny bit

Woah, that was aaaages ago. Story of the blog at the moment. More about that to come, lets see how I actually went with the list.

1. Complete appraisal learning stories
2. Do the calf club thing
3. Amy's 30th!
4. Take some sweet photos of Damien doing his stunt driving
5. Get things printed for physical baby books and get them up to date
6. Do some more of the advanced google course
7. Watch 'MKR'
8. Watch 'The Walking Dead'
9. Watch 'American Horror Story'
10. Have a nice hot, relaxing bath.

Still in the pursuit of getting these baby books up to date! I have made a start! And, not only did I do more of the Level 2 google course - I nailed the exam and now and both a Level 1 and 2 certified google educator. Excited!

The next is that I'm taking this year's summer break a whole month early. I am keeping the girl's pages up to date and will be back with a hiss and a roar in January, but I never wanted this to become a chore and it's been hanging over me lately. I'm giving myself 2 months off to focus on the 30 before 30 goals and just spend some time doing what I usually do but not writing about it....until January where I'll fill you in.

Have a great couple months for the start of summer, today feels like it's already begun at our house <3

Weekly 10

Phew! What a busy week. I haven't had time to blog, but did you notice how fast the turn around on this Weekly 10 is? 4 days!!! That's 4 days people. After streaks of 3 weeks I'm very proud of myself. PLUS I've even done things extra to the list, see below. Keeping in mind that I've had parent teacher interview two nights this week AND it's just me without my sidekick at home with the girls. THAT'S impressive... maybe it's the sidekick that takes up too much of my time usually? Or maybe I'm just trying to keep myself busy so that I don't miss him so much (3 1/2 more sleeps <3)

So, here's to how I did.

Productivity:
1.  Laminate and cut out things for Willow's birthday.
2.  Get cook books ready to sell.

3. Get baby books up to date - shutterfly ones and physical ones.
I've completely got the digital books up to date, here they are for your paroosal. I've also decided to hold off on printing the photos that are needed for the physical ones as I will do them in one fell swoop after birthdays so I have everything I need. I have although, got all the needed photos on a memory card ready to go. *PROUD*

For the family:
4. Get through the week without dadda!
5.  Take Leah to choose and buy her 4th birthday bracelet charm.
I'm crossing this out now as it's planned for the weekend. Needed to do something productive while daddy was away. These littlies would drive me nuts if we stayed at home all weekend! LOL

Work and stuff...:
6. Finish making Gloss aligned maths resource.

7. Write plays blog post... when the videos hurry up and upload to drop box!
You can see it here.

Just for me:
8. Be kind to myself this week - it's a busy one and we're one man down at home!
9. Track eating on 'My fitness pal'.
Proud that I did this every day, even though my eating has been mediocre. I often stray away from tracking on days that I'm not super awesome with eating, but I've found that I've actually not done too bad this week! Yus!
10. Finish reading cross stitch.
I was happy to 'complete' my list with this goal 75% finished. I've begun watching 'Outlander' which is based on the book, and that's taken up some of my time. Still loving and enjoying the book also and didn't want to make it a chore by forcing myself to read when I also want to watch.

Other things that I have done this week include...
Updated Willow's 365
Listed cookbooks to sell
Lister make up to sell...and sold it

Sunday, August 9, 2015

Weekly 10 has been somewhat of a disappointment of late. Don't worry, I'm super busy doing stuff... just not the stuff on my list. Lol, this last time in particular, which is why I've been skulking away and not doing the next list. Oh alright let's look at it...

Productivity:
1.  Christmas shopping list.
2.  Make a budget that makes saving a priority.
3. Get baby books up to date - shutterfly ones and physical ones.

For the family:
4. Day out to the movies and mini golf with Dadda and Leah.
5.  Enjoy spending time with our cousins at Savannah's 1st birthday

Work and stuff...:
6. Make maths games resource bundle.
7. Go to secret squirrel interview.

Just for me:
8. Conquer at least 20000 steps EVERY day.
9. Practise making curls using the hot iron
10. Read!

I don't know what I was so scared of. It's actually not that bad. One of the ones I haven't done I will add to this week as I'm halfway there. The one about the budget I'm going to defer until birthday season finishes in our house and although I haven't quite done 20000 steps a day, I have won my challenges on the fitbit. So I'll take that.

Onward!

Productivity:
1.  Laminate and cut out things for Willow's birthday.
2.  Get cook books ready to sell.
3. Get baby books up to date - shutterfly ones and physical ones.

For the family:
4. Get through the week without dadda!

Weekly 10 - About time!

I thought it was time to have a look at these again - I really need to decide on a day of the week, or find a new name at least! lol. Either way I feel like I've been productive, which is what it's all about.

Let's see how I've gone...
Productivity:
1.  Organise 5 stack drawers in spare room
2.  Cull books and organise book shelf
3. Post it note some more of my cookbooks
I'd still like to do more, perhaps finish my collection, because my goal is to use the recipes out of the ones I've noted and then potentially get rid of them. I have an abundance!
4. Make two of the dishes for the 5 course gourmet meal
Nope... boo. My family have decided to do an MKR style challenge and our time will be in November. Because of this I will be changing my 30 before 30 goal to accommodate. I'm excited. Perhaps I'll try one in the next week while I'm off on holiday - YAY HOLIDAY!

For the family:
5. Have a lovely lunch with Aunty Sheryl and Glenice
6. Shopping list for Willow's birthday
7. Take Leah to the library

Just for me:
8. Practise making curls using the hot iron
9. Get all the teaching resources that are ready up on iKandy
10.Go to bed early and read 'Cross stitch'

Not too bad considering. I really need to make time to sort out the hair stuff for myself. I've been quite good with Leah but rubbish with stuff for me. I've also been really bad at going to sleep early - shock horror. Pretty good at sleeping on the couch though! Bloody MKR. I haven't read much either, but when I do I'm enjoying the book.

Onwards and upwards....
Productivity:
1.  Have a movie day next week when the weather is yuck (yes this is productive!)
2.  Sell the culled bits and pieces in the garage
3. Post it note some more of my cookbooks
4. Make two of the dishes for the 5 course gourmet meal

Weekly 10

Much closer to a week this time! Lol I giggle each time I do it. If it wasn't called 'weekly 10' and simply something about being productive it'd be fine, but I love the irony behind the 'week' label.
I've been quite down this last week, lots of things that have been bubbling away have hit the fan. I feel like I'm coming out the other end now, but it ebbs and flows. I tell you think because I think it's important to highlight that even though I've been feeling rubbish, and not wanting to do anything, I have...and you know what? I feel better for it. No matter how crap you're feeling it's good to put your mind to something that's going to make you feel good. Ah, warm fuzzies.

Productivity:
1.  Post-it note my new cookbooks so I can use them without it being a chore.
2.  Do a 52 lists
3. Make some biscuits for Jake
Look at this happy boy! Recipe to be in a blog post coming your way shortly.

4. Do a restaurant blog post.
Not only have I done a restaurant blog... I've done heaps this week.
Restaurant update
30 before 30 - cocktails
My brush with the Backstreet Boys and...
Taking stock

For the family:
5. Invitations for Leah's birthday & food list.
6. Shopping list for Willow's birthday.
I haven't done this yet... Will get on to it this week.
7. Have a special outing for us all.
This didn't happen either. Although we had a lovely weekend together, we stayed home in the warm.

Just for me:
8. Send email about tattoo.
9. Have a relaxing bath.
10. Keep working on secret squirrel, special projects.

So all in all not to shabby really. Super happy with my blogging efforts. Well done me! For this week...

It's been a long time between posts, but I've been busy with a few little things, at least one I'll be able to share with you all in the next little while - hopefully a couple of them. Let's see how I went with last week's list...

Weekly 10 - A better week for sure!

3. Print out Willow and Leah's birth announcements to frame.

For the family:
4. Take the girls for a walk at Awhitu with Rachael & Maddie.

Week 10 - A new week

I gave myself a little bit longer than I normally would to complete the set of goals (two of them) I had. I'm quite happy with my efforts over the last couple of weeks, even though I didn't complete everything. I also want to change Weekly 10 up a bit, so I'm focussing on all parts of my life and enriching them rather than just adding to the endless pile of things I have to do.

But first, lets see how I did.

The first list said...
1. Waterb last the area around the washing line.
2. Begin planning my gourmet meal for 30 before 30.
3.  House lists - start adding to these. 4. Organise photo cupboard.
5.  Get photos printed.
6. Plan for more photos for the the 'Whanau' wall.
7. Check smoke alarms.
8. Read!
9. Organise Recipe folder.
10. Have some fun with the family in the weekend. Spend some time not worrying about getting things done!

Did lots of that last one, especially this weekend, with our lovely trip to Cornwall Park with my beautiful girls. I'd really like to spend some time with photos to choose some more for the 'whanau wall' and I really need to get my A into G with the waterblasting and gourmet meal, so perhaps these will reappear in a coming list.

1. Snuggle up with Leah on the couch when Willow goes to bed.
2. Talk to Leah about the games she's doing on her iPad.
3. Take some staged photos of Willow with her Punk Baby bibbies.
4. Read one more book that I usually do with Leah at bedtime.
5. Make a yummy pudding for Damien one night.

6. Watch TV WITHOUT doing anything else at the same time.
7. Read, read, read.

8. Count to ten before I get grumpy - especially when someone isn't doing as she's asked.
9. Make and freeze kumara mash for Will.
10. 20,000 steps a day (this does seem like adding something - but I'm really enjoying this, so why not?!)

Smashed this list, which showed me a couple of things.

I need to make sure I make space for things in my list that are about family and just me, as well as the 'getting things done' goals. A couple of these a week are sufficient, especially considering I'm someone who liked to keep a tidy house, have at least 3 'new recipe' dinners a week, and has a full time job and two children under 4! Lol. Time to be more kind to myself with my lists. Hell, I could even include some work things in there, as I need to be doing them.

And so! Weekly 10 will now have some headings: Productivity, for the family, just for me, and work. No set rules on how many of each, I just want to make sure I'm balancing my life a little better, and can be happy that I've completed a list - cuz I do get a wee bit down when I don't.

New Week's List:

Productivity:
1. Water blast the fence around the washing line.
2.  Plan the 'gourmet meal' meals for the 30 before 30.
3. Print out Willow and Leah's birth announcements to frame.

For the family:
4. Take the girls for a walk at Awhitu with Rachael & Maddie.
5. Take photos of the girls - Willow with her last punk baby bib on for instagram.

Just for me:
6. Read!
7. 20,000 steps each day
8. Have a night off - BSB concert!!!

Work:
9. Put CV stuff onto appraisal website.
10. Mark writing samples.

Weekly 10 - A fail week - Whoops, and a little food for thought.

Well, I have to put it out there....I did nothing from last week's list. Now don't get me wrong, I thought about it, I just didn't do any of it. AND, I'm super happy about it. My biggest downfall? MKR. God I love that show.

Why am I super happy about it I hear you ask? Because I gave myself permission to snuggle up under the blanket and water the NRL or MKR. I wasn't flipping around like an energiser bunny, going balls to the wall until bed time - and I liked it! When I originally began Weekly 10, I took the inspiration from another blogger who did a similar thing, but I feel like I've taken it too far. The woman ensured she has things that were productivity thing, but also things she wanted to do with/for her kids and husband. I now and then add in that I want to relax of read, but I'm really not good at the relax thing.

Yes I love being busy, yes I love being productive and yes I love getting things done BUT, It's been getting me down - weird huh. Picture this, I'm getting my bits and pieces ready for the following day - the girls breakfasts, bags in the car, clothes laid out for tomorrow, checking the washing situation and so on and so forth. This is after Willow is in bed, but Leah is still up. I like to get everything ready for the following day so that when Leah goes to sleep I have time to get my things done. What I've been unhappy with recently is that Leah doesn't get any of that time with me, because I'm so busy.

So a different kinda list this week. I am going to try and complete last week's list because I still think they're valid things that I've been wanting to do. I also want to do the following.

Weekly 10 - here's how I went

1) Blog! Get back on the blogging wagon. I've had a love/hate relationship with it recently.
I feel like I'm back in the groove with this, and I'm determined to keep it going.

2) Begin the 'Love Yourself' Challenge'
Didja see my post?

3) Begin to make some of these habits. Numbers 3, 4, 5, 8, 10, 27, 37, 39, 40, 42, 45 and 48 in particular interest me.
I've done super well with Meatless Monday's having just finished my 2nd. It's actually not too bad. I'd like to keep looking at these things to continue to make them habits.

4) Plan fun activities for Leah and Willow and days that I can commit to doing them when I'm back at work.

5) Read!
Went from 15% read to 42% read. Getting there! She's a big book!

6) Plan out 30 before 30.
I did this with a blog post you can find here.

7) Finish journal page and do another.

8) Make a kick-ass dinner on Wednesday for Mum.
We had Pork loin with blue cheese, shallots and pears, hassleback potato and steamed bok choy and then for dessert we had a self saucing pudding. Was delish!

9) Water blast the Washing Line area.

10. Sand the writing stool for school.

Weekly 10 - How many week's was that last one?

The last couple weeks of a busy term and then a busy Easter weekend and beginning of the holiday have meant that I was fairly rubbish at this list. I did most of it, somewhat but I've neglected some, as well as the blog. Took #9 a little too literally? Lol. Let's see...

1) Do a journal page
I began one...

2) Go through photos on computer and organise

Boom! Did actually cross one off

3) Get some cracking photos of the Balloons over Waikato
We had a sick little girl, so left this one. I did although take some photos of the easter bunny last weekend.

4) Plan some more at home activities to do with Willow and Leah
I'd like to get back into this. Willow is a bit more independent when we get home from daycare now and I miss giving my big girl these fun learning activities at home.

5) Read at least 50% of the new bookclub book
20% - It IS a big book! I need to rattle my dags with this though.. only 3 or 4 more weeks to read it.

6) Wrap birthday present
Two! :D

7) Plan out what's left of the 30 before 30 - what am I missing?
Would still like to do this.

8) Take Willow's 7 month photo

9) Relax? Even a little bit.

10) More regular sleeping pattern - bedtime and wake time. You can do it!
I got good at this and then lost it again.

New list coming your way tomorrow :)
