How's the 52 goals in 52 weeks going Kate?

Well I'm glad you asked.

As of today I have completed 26 of the goals, so just over half but there are a lot that I have begun or are year long goals that I am chugging my way through quite nicely.

Plus the holidays are coming up soon so watch this space for some brilliance in the goal crossing of banaza that is the Term 3 break. Trust me, it'll be worth it!

Marbled Cheesecake Brownies

100g dark cooking chocolate, chopped
125g butter, chopped
1 cup caster sugar and 1/2 cup extra
3 eggs
1 cup plain flour
250g cream cheese
1t vanilla essence

1. Preheat oven to 160 degrees celcius and grease and line a 30x20cm slice pan with baking paper extending paper at long sides for handles.

2. Combine chocolate, butter and cocoa powder in a medium saucepan over low heat. Stir until chocolate melts and mixture is smooth. Remove from heat. Add 1 cup sugar and 2 of the eggs, stir until combined. Sift flour over chocolate mixture and stir. Set aside.

3. Using an electric mixer, beat cream cheese, extra sugar and vanilla in a medium bowl until smooth and creamy. Add remaining egg and beat until well combined. Place large spoonfuls of chocolate mixture and cream cheese mixture in prepared pan, alternating mixtures. Using a knife, swirl mixture to marble.

4. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a skewer inserted at centre comes out clean. Remove from over. Cool in pan. Cut into squares.

Silent Sunday

Weekly 10

“It is not enough to be busy... The question is: what are we busy about?”

I've been feeling pretty down and out this week - deflated! I have been very lacklustre in everything I've done. Don't ask me exactly what it is, I couldn't tell you, but I'm hoping the funk lifts soon, just riding it at the moment.

I tell you this as my list this week was very flimsy and I still didn't accomplish much from it. One thing I can actively do to sort out this funk is clean, as embarrassing as it sounds. Cleaning makes me feel happy. So next week will be full of cleaning and organising things. Woo hoo!

1. Complete maths assignment and send in. Not done yet, will complete tonight (it's due tomorrow).

2. Read. Did this mostly Saturday but did other smatterings through the week.

3. Blog x2 I did none this week but am doing one now and then scheduling some

4. Take down pom poms Sunday

5. Relax every night Now this I did. But not the kind of relaxing that I prefer. I just felt lazy.

6. Excercise x3 Done big fat none.

7. Go through RSS feeds Have begun.

8. Make 52 in 52 plan Nope.

9. Tracking eat everyday Only did Monday.

10. Make meat ball dish Tuesday.

Man I feel bad... and so I should. Let's hope this week I'm more focussed.

Giant Paper Pom Poms

We made these super easy and super cute decorations for Leah's birthday. The Martha Stewart ones are $25 for 3 and you still have to puff them up yourself (which is the most time consuming part). What a rip! Make them yourself! I used this youtube clip.

Sesame Street Birthday #2

One week out! Things are getting very busy around our house.

Here are a few more things that I've been working on.

Cupcake toppers
Last year we made this creation for Leah's 'Balloons and bubbles' birthday.

Now, when I say 'made' we decorated the cupcakes and made the pretty cake board. Damien and I enjoyed it so much that we've decided to make it somewhat of a tradition. So yet again we're ordering and decorating. This year though with the Sesame Street theme we're working with colours and these pretties.

So I've popped these onto sticks, and are working with colours around the cupcake cups, icing and decorations. Watch this space for a photo in the next week.

I've also got a bunch of Sesame Street 'bits and pieces' cut up and ready. Originally this was for a photo booth type thing but I might just blue tak them to the ranch slider for the kids to play with.

Garbage Toss & Cookie Monster Game:
Throwing games are good for little people...

Next lot of photos will be from the day itself. It's actually Leah's birthday tomorrow, just the party on Saturday. Here's what she's waking up to tomorrow morning. Can't wait <3
